Who makes the magazine, how the desk thinks, and where responsibility sits.
ELITISM is run as a lean independent title. We do not pretend to be a multinational masthead with a marble lobby. We do publish with the standards of a serious cultural magazine: research, voice, and accountability for what appears under our name.
Editorial
Editor-in-Chief
The ELITISM Desk
Overall direction of the magazine, section balance, and final responsibility for published essays. The desk commissions and edits for thesis, accuracy and tone—not for virality.
Culture & Design
Empty Canvas & Glare Living
Exhibitions, craft, architecture, objects and fashion-as-form. Pieces that treat making as thought.
Image & Screen
The Secret Screen
Cinema, photography and narrative image—where looking is the medium.
Poetry & Language
The Poetry Bench
Poems, poets and literary essays; language treated as craft.
Living
Premium Living
Travel and living as culture, not points spam. Considered luxury only when it earns the page.
Principles
- Thesis first — no inverted-pyramid wire leads
- Primary sources — museums, makers, critics; not only listicles
- Archive memory — we link our own past when it rhymes
- Complicating beats — praise is never the whole story
- Independence — no pay-to-play coverage; partnerships never buy a thesis
Corrections
If we get a date, name, venue or fact wrong, write to editorial@elitismstyle.com with the URL and the correction. We amend quietly and, for material errors, note the change on the page when warranted.
Pitches
We rarely run unsolicited full drafts, but we read short pitches (one paragraph + why ELITISM + sources you can access). Subject line: Pitch: [section] — [subject]. See also Contact.
